Errie use of tech.
Mar. 19th, 2003 05:59 pmMSNBC has a live night cam from bagdad, just the camera and open mic.
I tune in, the morning islam prayers are going off, at about 15min before 6am bagdad time.
Kind of errie, also kind of early, too. But all things considered..
I wish I knew what they were saying. I get this gu feeling it's not just a morning prayer, but some sort of prayer of bravery, before battle. That's at least what my gut is saying.
I've thought about sampling islam prayer chants before because of it's unique sonic sculpture, the arabic language sung in Easter world temperment. Now, I feel I'll have to research what ever it is I may ever sample before using it. I'd hate to use a holy sample and write a song about a man, a woman, and their loveslave.
It's haunting drown is quite weighty already.
This what I call reality tv: a true snapshot into a moment in time. Cars are driving by and the sun is rising.
*sigh*
