I haven't had this album in about 3 years since it was stolen from me. I never got around to buying a 2nd copy (could never find a used one and didn't want to break down and pay $18 for one) or asking if anyone had a copy I could burn (not pirating! I have my old jewel case!!) After a while, I just forgot about it with other things and musics. I still had this song and The Cage Complex pop in my dreams occassionally, and when I would wake up and remind myself of the fact I didn't own it anymore, and then I'd get angry, drink cheap Bushmill's and listen to bad hip-hop like Lil' John and da East Side Boyz.

While in Camden Town, I went into a record store that had a 2-disc combo of Freeze Frame Reality and Solutions For A Small Planet. I never owned Freeze Frame, and the albums were £10 new, which worked out to about $17 for both. So I bought them. I grab the Solutions' case to listen in my car, and the counterperson inserted the Freeze Frame disc into the Solutions' jewel case. Arrgh! Later that day, I grab the Freeze Frame case, switch cd's, burned Solutions, and now I'm a happy happy boy.
Did I mention I love this album. Everyone has "that album" and this one is mine. The syncopated rhythms and mix of gentle and harsh melodies, harmonies, and basslines, are just fantastic. I used to meditate and cast spells to this album. I'm sooo happy to have it again. Oh, and it's the Offbeat/SPV release, so that makes me cooler, right?

[livejournal.com profile] kyronfive do you know if the mix for the Offbeat release is different than the Metropolis release? Some of the mixes of songs sound different. I noticed it the most in Journey Ahead.

Did I mention I love this Album?
