Jeb bush makes some comment about the people of San Francisco being endangered species.

One could construe that was an indirect jab at the alternate lifestyles and thinkers of the area. But to put endangered species and San Francisco together may require too much in the way of wit on his part.

Besides, doesn't he realize South Beach is one of the most flamboyantly gay areas of the east coast hands down?

You used the word 'realize' and the concept 'Jeb Bush' in the same sentence.

Didn't you expect these two to not go together?

I think he's probably referring to the fact that the Bay Area is finding itself outvoted in state elections more often in the last 10-15 years... that the liberal majority in California is receding to the SF area and northern parts of the state. He has a point, sad to say. The days of the monolithic California liberal vote are long over, and even a lot of city elections in SF made me question whether folks there are actually as liberal as they seem in national and statewide elections (after all, they did elect Frank Jordan as mayor on a law-and-order, 'get those homeless out of our faces' platform).

On the other hand, if he thinks that this means his brother will take California in '04, I'll see that bet :)

I took major offense to that comment, and I don't even live in S.F. any more! One San Franciscan is worth 100 Jeb Bush's any fucking day of the week.

Where ARE the alligators when you need them?
