Leipzig, pt. 3

Ok, so now I'm thinking I may want to stop in Oslo while I'm in Europa. Sure, let's complicate my life a little bit. ;)

So if I make London my gateway to Europe:

Fly in SFO/LHR(Virgin); Fly STN/TRF)Ryanair); Fly TRF/HHN(Ryanair), then train from Frankfurt to Leipzig; Fly AOC/STN; overnight in London; Fly LHR/SFO.

Travel costs= $845, give or take.

If Frankfurt is my gateway:

Fly SFO/HHN; Fly HHN/TRF (R/T); Train from Frankfurt to Leipzig (R/T); Fly out HHN/SFO.

Travel costs= $868, give or take.

So, for $23 or so less, I get 1 day London. Is it really worth it? I dunno yet. That's good enough for a shopping spree in Picadilly I s'pose.

Nevertheless, all this much cheaper than just going right to bloody Leipzig in one shot. ($1200 at it's cheapest!)

Also, it cost as much to train r/t to and from Leipzig as it is to fly on Lufthansa, but then we get into the whole "train-riding romance" arguement.

As far as a place to kick while I'm there, this joint looks nice and is quite affordable.

All this over a goth/industrial festival. Sheesh :-)

the ladybug got a pretty nice deal by flying icelandic air and staying in reykjavik; if you want to check them out as an alternate to norway, it's worth looking into.
