I had this dream last night. <dream>There was a high speed chase being followed by a helicopter. This was being narrrated live on Mornings on 2. The car lost control and just disintegrated as it rammed into a mini-bus and a few other cars, causing a horrible carnage of collisions.

I remember hearing Ross McGowan's voice describing how they had to remove some of the injured and dead from the wrecks. They had to amputate their arms on the spot. He even went so far as saying (in my dream) "..when some of the elderly's limbs were amputated, medical personnel commented how the bodies of some of the living and dead immediately twitched 90 degrees to the right..." </dream>

wtf?!?!

I woke up at 03:30am and started watching CNNutz, Fux News, MSNBukkake, etc, seeing if there was any disasters abound. I was fearing I would look out into the San Francisco skyline and see a mushroom cloud. I woke up and turned on CNN just before the 1st plane hit the WTC towers, so I have an unfortuante ability to get a psychic heads up about imending disasters like that sometimes. Nothing happened, so I crawled into bed, woke up later and dealt with the traffic to go to work.

Interstate 280. Worst. Commute. Ever.

I saw a Toyota 4 Runner on the side of the rode upside down, which I would expect on a day like this. The craziest sight I have to say was seeing some Trans Am going Northbound in Palo Alto. The front was smashed in and the hood was jacked up. And he was drving. Yes, with the hood of his car up. A cop was following behind demanding he pull over.

The sun's broken through and there was a lovely rainbow coming back from lunch. I wish it would rain again in über-torrential mode. It's when nature is at it's worst is when I feel at my best. I don't know why, maybe it's because I feel nature is being bluntly honest.

Can some one tell me what I am supposed to take away from such a dream.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] cr0wgrrl sent me this comic today. Glad my rings aren't brass. :)

I believe only you can actually truly interpret the meaning of your own dreams. However, I do think that commentary from other people can sometimes help send you in the right direction. So, here's the first things that popped into my head upon reading it.

The things you mentioned that stand out the most are the amputations and the 90 degree turn. Is there a decision you are contemplating that could be seen as a 90 degree turn? As in sudden, sharp, unexpected, a blind corner, and/or stabilizing? Basically what do you associate with a 90 degree angle? Secondly the decision that I see as being the 90 degree angle, what results will it have? Would you be "cutting off your own nose to spite your face"? Would you have to give up important elements that you feel define who you are in order to take this turn? Also the high speed chase and collision seem to be related to the idea of feeling like you have to make the decision quickly without the necessary time to make a clear choice. Instead it's one that has to be made in a split second and you can only hope it won't result in a crash because the wrong decision at the wrong moment could very easily result in disaster.

One other possible way to regard the amputees is also the idea of undergoing a transformation. If you are currently undergoing a major transformation in your life that could be seen something that although may make life "easier" in your mind isn't exactly really needed.

Let me know if that helps any.

When I have dreams like that one, it's usually when I'm under some horrific stress. Amputations can mean that people are taking away power in my life, introducing limitations. However, occasionally dreams like this are influenced by the outside sounds of "uber-torrential" rain seeping into my dreamlife. Just some ideas.

I misread Ross McGowan as "Rose" McGowan, which is an entirely *different* kind of dream.

Other than that, I go with the deep worry regarding any crucial change in your life theory. But I'm not adept at dream interpretation.
