LJ'ers say the darndest things.
Feb. 3rd, 2004 01:59 pmI went lolligaging around my past posts today looking for something and ended up taking a trip down memory lane.
I would like to apologize for all the spelling, grammar, and general writing errors I have exposed all of you to as well as the schizophrenic content.
I'm looking back at everything, and I'm thinking to myself "If some who has never met or heard of me read this, they'll think I'm some unintelligent, incoherent rambling high-school dropout.
I compared my postings to others' past ramblings. You all seem to possess this eloquence when scribing your thoughts while I just seem to whine and scream. And only 4 or 5 of you are full time professional authors. THe rest of you were born with it, I suppose.
I think from now on, I'm going to try and write 15-30 second ditties here and there in order to express my thoughts of the moment in a more eloquent fashion.

One of my old post was this one on "the rules of LJ".
hypothermya & I came up with them for these reasons. I've been making way more public references to my LJ than before. Maybe I've changed. Maybe I've gotten weak. Who knows.

Also, most of us use a spellchecking client, which helps. I know I'm too lazy to always 'waste' my minor writing gift on a post about giant squid or what I did at Safeway today.

And that "the rules of LJ" post was extremely helpful to me as a newbie. It made me want to play!
Big hugs and kisses.

Date: 2004-02-03 02:44 pm (UTC)Also, when I look at my own posts compared to others', I often feel like I don't have enough to say. Because, you know, the 1000th post of "blah, writer's block again," is really fucking fascinating. Meh.
I'm fairly sure there are lots of people out there who have perfectly good journals who eye the other's journal and think, "I don't write anything cool like they do."
I'm also equally sure that there are lots of people out there who think, "I'm wonderful! and pretty. Oh, so pretty."
