Feb. 13th, 2004 10:06 am1. Are you superstitious?
I believe in the influence and occurrences that I cannot see with the naked eye or hear with my ears on this conscious plane. But I wouldn't call that being superstitious. It's more of a respect for the not-so-obvious.
2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
Someone sat in a room with nothing but sage smudges burning all day in order to achieve a deep cleanse. That's extreme...ly stinky after a while. :-)
3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?
Black cats are bad luck. Crows are a sign of evil. Those make me chuckle. I live with a black cat, and I find crows keep an eye on me.
4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
Hmm. Yeah, I do. But I don't have anything that is a physical manifestsation of that luck. I'd say it's more of a being in the right state of mind, being "in the zone" if you will is when I can feel the inner thighs of lady luck wrapped around my neck.
5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
Yes, I do. I believe everything in the universe is connected and share some sense of relativity. Borrowing an analogy from Chris Robinson, the universe (to me at least) is like a great song. We're all members of the orchestra. Getting a reading gives one an idea what phrases one has been playing, and what the following movements may sound like. It's not as 100% as a real piece of sheet music, but it gives one an idea of how the piece is sounding at any given moment.
I believe this because my friend
ladyeuthanasia has given me readings here and there over the last several years and they have always been insightful about the how's and why's of any particular moment in time and possibilities of moments that have yet to occur. I've been fortunate to have positive experiences with astology as well, so my opinion isn't jaded as others may be.
