I wonder which one of the writers of Demolition Man came up with that line about "President Schwarzenegger."

Arnie was chatting about the ban against immigrants becoming citizens.

Apparently Orin Hatch has proposed a bill allowing "foreign-born Americans to run for the presidency if they had been citizens for 20 years. "

I think that's a good idea anyway. We are a country of immigrants who decided to escape one form of oppression and come here and experience another. :-)

I don't think a bill is enough; IIRC, they'll have to amend the Constitution to allow foreigners to be Prez. The requirements are laid out somewhere in Article II, which is what they'd have to amend.
