I got my laptop back. They also replaced the outer ridge of it because it was cracked. I think they were going to try and charge me with the repairs because they were judging the damage to be my fault, but since no one ever called me, and I turned on my subtle "face through a plasma screen" voice at even the mention of the possibility. "No, I contacted APP and I was told and given their word that all repairs are covered. I didn't get any phone call, so I don't expect to pay anything...riiight?!"

New monitor. New frame. I think they ran a optimizer program because she seems to be running faster. That or I just missed her. Supposedly, since Apple is using BSD's HFS, there is no need to de-frag or optimize the hard drive. (I was looking this up a while ago.) I say shennanigans! Besides, one ends up with funky frag'd HD's doing digital audio.

In any case, I'm glad she's home.

Saw KMFDM last night. Glad I went, it was a lot of fun. I'd never seen them before, so I figured I should go out and see them now before...who knows... Sasha K.'s a nice guy. The Cyber-Guerilla front is all in his sunglasses. When they're off, he's raher laid back. The opening act, Black Japan was really neat. But one really really needs to be into those powernoize-soundscapes sorts of audio collages. I dig it. I think it makes for good ritual music, IMO. Some people I know were beating their heads in pain against the wall. I ran into Julio and he was boucing up & down with joy. "This is the shit, man! This is real industrial. "
