Animated backgrounds for OS X
Mar. 21st, 2007 05:55 amI know, I'm probably late to the game on this one, but you OS X users, if you have an animated screensaver (such as RSS Visualizer or LotsaWater-> which is mine) open the Terminal and type this:
(I'm sure this has been possible before on OS X and other platforms, but, anywho, there it is.)
/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background
And you'll have a nice animated background while you work. I suppose this would be good to impress anyone you want to Roger with your l337-ness as they walk into your apartment (if anyone does get sex faster b/c of a animated background, I'd like to know, since I doubt this is actually possible) or impress investors with your "Bleeding-Edge Cross-media platform management solution" by having them walk into an office of computer that look like the screen's melting while the nutty startup rapscallions or working hard on changing the world.
Or you're bored, just dropped acid, and need something pretty to stare as you're trolling around MySpace.
